Pining for Pinterest: Ways to Integrate Into Direct Email Marketing

I will make a confession right up front: I find Pinterest addictive.

There I said it. I am borderline addicted to Pinterest. And I get how the images and sharing that make up Pinterest can be hugely beneficial for doing some of the best email marketing around when emailing a B2C audience.

Pinterest makes it so easy to share images, that any business selling shoes, skis, furniture, recipe ingredients, pet care products, cars or even toothpaste could benefit from this social media tool. Including images in email marketing and encouraging pins are only a start.

Then add a follow button to your emails. Download a Pinterest follow button and add it to your emails and website, to grow a base of followers who might not buy but who will certainly share.

Then focus on putting up great images.

You can also use email to test for your most appealing images, because the share rate is so high on Pinterest. Pit one image against another in an A/B split test and discover the image with the biggest appeal. Then use that one for your whole list to achieve the best email marketing.

Got an interest in Pinterest? It’s time!
