San Mateo, CA—Rapidly growing email marketing agency ClickMail has hired Jeff Batte as the Senior Director of Client Services. Batte has had a long and varied career in the digital marketing world, with experience in ecommerce, creative and operational areas.

Email has always fascinated Batte since he got started in digital marketing over 15 years ago, but it doesn’t stop there. “I’m drawn to any kind of marketing that can nurture a personal relationship with a customer,” he says. “Our ability to do that now with email, and complementary channels like SMS and social media, is amazing. It has advanced so much in 15 years.”

Batte plans to put those technological developments to use to help ClickMail clients enhance and improve their email marketing programs.

“My goal is to set up a structure through which we can not only help clients with basic everyday email marketing needs, but to help them grow by offering comprehensive services that can improve upon what they’re already doing or even offer a better way,” says Batte.

Footwear Etc. is a multi-channel retailer of fashion and comfort footwear. The footwear retailer needed to understand the value of behavioral marketing as a complement to their existing email marketing. With the help of email marketing vendors Smarter Remarketer and ClickMail, Footwear Etc. used highly targeted behavioral marketing and put together a variety of re-engagement programs built around their regular email during the holiday season.

“The tactic increased conversion by putting prospects back into the buying process,” says Marco Marini, CEO of ClickMail Marketing. “The results of this email campaign were impressive, even to us as an email marketing vendor. The targeted emails outperformed the regular emails by up to 400%.”

Mindware is a multi-channel retailer of educational toys. The toy retailer wanted to re-engage those customers who abandoned their carts and checkouts during the holiday season. Also with the assistance of Smarter Remarketer and ClickMail, the company created a campaign to re-engage two primary audiences: prospects who added items to their carts then abandoned the cart, and prospects who started the checking out process but didn’t complete it.
